Onadeyak.lk is a marketplace. We moderate listings, but you should still stay careful when buying, selling, applying for jobs, or sending marriage requests.
Meet in a public place
For in-person handovers, choose a busy public location in daylight. Tell a friend where you are going. Never invite a stranger to your home for a first meeting.
Do not send money upfront
Never pay a deposit, courier fee, or “verification” charge to an unknown seller. Prefer cash on collection or a trusted payment method you control. If a deal sounds too cheap, it usually is.
Keep chat on the platform first
Be cautious if someone immediately pushes you to WhatsApp, email, or a private site. Scammers often leave Onadeyak to avoid reports. Save screenshots of ads and messages.
Check the listing and the person
Compare photos, price, and location with similar ads. Ask for extra photos or a short video. For vehicles and property, verify documents before you pay. For jobs, never pay to “secure” a role.
Report suspicious ads
Use Report on the listing if you see fake photos, phishing, threats, or prohibited items. We review reports and can remove listings. If you are in immediate danger, contact the police.
